Meet Kaitlin

Hello babes!! If you have been keeping up with the blog since the beginning of this year, then you know I have hinted at some changes that are going to be happening, well I wasn't just talking about content. I am so happy to announce that I have added 3 new editors on to my team to bring you all the best content in so many more ways!

First up I am so happy to introduce you to Kaitlin, keep reading to find a little bit more about her!

Kaitlin is originally from Shrewsbury, NJ transplanted into the South by way of Oxford, MS. She is a soon to be grad from the University of Mississippi, where she and Courtney first met and instantly became best friends. Kaitlin is a spin instructor at Pure Ryde Oxford and is studying journalism. When Kaitlin is not instructing a spin class, she enjoys relaxing weekends reading, a good movie and wine night, or visiting her boyfriend in Seattle for a weekend trip. She is a Pinterest mastermind and lover of Instagram. Kaitlin first dove into the editorial content/social media world with her summer internship at Aeropostale. She has recently come on as a contributing editor to share her passion for writing and provide how to's for navigating your early twenties, relationships, school and personal life.

1. What is one thing every college girl needs?

A swell water bottle and a Kate Spade Planner

2. Do you have a pet?

Yes! I have a 12- year- old Maltese named Mazy! I love her to pieces and I miss her so much when I am away at school. I am 100% a dog person and I can’t wait until I can have a cute apartment and a cute dog!

3. What helps you be so confident?

Confidence is something that hasn’t always come easily to me. Growing up I always felt a little awkward and unsure in social settings, self- conscious of little things like, “was I laughing too loudly?” “Was my outfit okay?” It wasn’t until I got to college did I begin to grow into myself and love myself for the woman that I knew God was slowly making. I saw this great quote on Pinterest about confidence that really stuck with me; “Confidence is silent, insecurities are loud.” I know for myself that this is so true!

4. What inspires your fashion sense?

When it comes to my style I get a lot of inspiration from favorite celebs and magazines but it also comes from my everyday life. My friends, my mom, where I live, what makes me feel pretty and feminine, these are all things that affect how I shop and what I have in my closet.

5. Favorite places to shop?

My favorite places to shop are Free People, Urban Outfitters, J.CREW, Nordstrom and small boutiques!

6. What is the biggest lesson you have learned in your twenties so far?

The biggest lesson I have learned in my twenties is self- care. No one is going to love you and take care of you like, well, YOU!

7. If you were to recommend one fashion staple what would it be?

If I could recommend one fashion staple I think it would have to be a great pair of black booties in the winter and in the summer a fun pair of simple brown sandals.

8. What do you do to unwind/relax?

As many of you know the life of a college student can be, at times insanely stressful and because of this I think it is so important to find a little section of the day that is all yours to relax. When I get home from a stressful day I love to take a hot shower, massage in Dead Sea mud mask, light some Anthro candles and snuggle into bed with a good book and a hot cup of vanilla bean tea! It really does wonders…

9. Favorite movie?

My favorite movie in the whole world is Serendipity and guess what? It’s on Netflix!

10. What is the craziest thing on your bucket list?

While my bucket list is not all that crazy, my boyfriend will be the first one to tell you I am not adventurous. The craziest thing on it would be cliff diving in Greece!

11. What is the best book you ever read?

Lately I have been on a major book binge! A few of my most recent favorites are Uninvited, #GirlBoss, Leave Your Mark, Strong Looks Better Naked and Not That Kind of Girl.

12. What is something that you have achieved?

I think my biggest achievement will be when I graduate from Ole Miss!

13. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?

I would love to live in London for a short period of time but my ultimate goal and dream is to live and work in New York City.

14. What are your 3 favorite foods?

I LOVE FOOD! So it is kind of hard to pick ONLY 3! I obviously love pizza because, who doesn’t? But lately I have been on a health food kick. I am loving goat cheese, hummus and Halo Top ice cream.

15. What scares you the most?

I think what scares me the most about growing up is that I am afraid of letting experiences pass me by.

16. Are you fluent in any other languages? If not, which language would you choose if you could?

You would think that after what feels like a lifetime of Spanish classes I would be able to hable espanol but sadly, I cannot. If I could choose one language to speak fluently it would probably be French, I think it just sounds so sophisticated and pretty.

17. Are you usually late, early, or right on time?

I am usually early or right on time!

18. Morning or night person?

I am 100% a morning person! My bed time around 10:00… I am a grandma.

19. How tall are you?

I am 5’4”

20. Where are you from?

I am from Shrewsbury, NJ

21. Where is your favorite place to vacation?

The Cove, Atlantis in the Bahamas is my favorite!

22. What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I want to grow up I used to want to be a teacher!

23. What’s your favorite movie quote?

“Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn” – Rhett Butler in Gone With the Wind
