Valentines day is this Tuesday, which is just another year in my book that I am single (happily). I used to get soooo annoyed with this day and was so anti Valentines Day, because that is what single people are suppose to do right? WRONG. Being in my early 20s, I have plenty of time to really use this day for its stereotype, so for now I plan on dedicating it to my friends and family.
Today Valentines Day is celebrated by so many. I think my friends and me celebrate it now, being single, more than I ever will when I am no longer single. Whether its sneaking champagne and chocolate into the new Fifty Shades of Grey premiere or hitting up the bars decked out in all red, we celebrate accordingly. Here are just a few of my favorite ways to celebrate:
1. Dinner for you
Why not treat yourself to a nice dinner!? You earned it honey! Call up your single girlfriend and make a reservation. For me, treating myself is a glass of sauvignon blanc and the carbonara from Bottega Louie (my fav, where this post was shot!). IT is definitely a little on the pricier side, but can be made done for occasion. It is girly and cute inside and full of all the things I love... pasta, wine and champagne, the prettiest pastries, and all white interiors with pops of pink, my dream.
2. Netflix, Wine, & Chill
I love a good movie night with popcorn, wine, and a chick flick. This holiday is sooo made for this. Some of my favorites are How to lose a guy in 10 days, Valentines day, The breakup, He's just not that into you, and of course Fifty Shades of Grey.
3. Treat yo' self
Maybe this is the perfect time to purchase that expensive handbag or piece of jewelry you've been eyeing. As if you need an excuse, this holiday would be a good one!
4. Brunch... Always
Instead of doing a valentines night, celebrate during the day. I never am one to say no to Brunch or mimosas. Whether you decide to host it on your own or go somewhere, brunch is a great way to get your friends together and celebrate.
5. A Sudsy evening
Having a "spa" night is sooo needed every now and then. Not only will your body, skin, and hair thank you but it is such goo d way to take care of yourself. Truth.... I do this on a regular basis. I recently became obsessed with the face sheet masks and do one at these three nights out of the week. Oh and the under eye mask things, I love them, they make a huge difference. There is nothing like a night to just relax and not worry about anything but yourself. After a long week of working it's my way of winding down. Some of my favorite bath accessories are below!
